STEP 1: Be sure to read through all of the information available including the FAQ and Frendly Crew descriptions.
STEP 2: Fill out the Frendly Crew application
STEP 3: Pay your deposit
All Frendly Crew volunteers must pay a $75 deposit in order to be considered for a position.
Provided that you show up on time to all of your shifts, do the job that’s expected of you, and don’t break any rules, your full deposit will be refunded to you after the festival is over.
All deposits must be paid no later than June 16th 2014.
If something comes up and you have to cancel before June16th 2014 you can get your full deposit back minus a $2 shipping and handling fee. Any cancellations after June 16th 2014 will forfeit their full deposit.
Once you have been accepted, you will receive a code to purchase your Frendly Crew ticket!
STEP 4: Get assigned to your Frendly Crew.
All Volunteers will be assigned to a specific Frendly Crew to help build consistency for both you and the festival staff so that you don’t have to learn a new system everyday.
You are able to choose which Frendly Crew you are most interested in working with. We can’t guarantee you’ll get your top choice, but we’ll do our best to get you on your Frendly Crew of choice.
STEP 5: Complete your Fendly Crew training.
Attend 1 short Google Hangouts training session where you be briefed by The Frendly Crew about your duties at the event as well as answer any questions you may have.
There will be 3 different hangouts scheduled and you will be required to attend 1 in order to volunteer.
If someone is unable to attend any of these 3 sessions prior to arrival they need to coordinate a one off phone conversation with the Volunteer coordinator.
STEP 6: Get your Frendly Crew Schedule
Schedules will be released one week prior to the festival.
This will allow you to know when you’re supposed to be working and give you an idea of your free time at the Frendly Gathering. What bands you’ll get to see and what bands you’ll have to miss, so if you have any issues you can try and work them out.
You may switch a scheduled shift, but only if you find another volunteer to cover that shift and both of you must sign a schedule shift request form and get approval from your supervisor.
STEP 7: Check in at The Frendly Gathering.
The June 25th volunteers must check in at the main Info booth at TImber Ridge Resort between 12-2pm.
The June 27th Volunteers must first check in at the Magic Mountain ticket office by 9am where you will receive your credentials and then you’ll be able to go setup your camp and check in with your supervisor.
STEP 8: Work your shifts.
Be sure to check in 10-15 minutes early to each of your shifts.
Check-in locations will vary depending on which Frendly Crew you are assigned to.
All Frendly Crew members are expected to be on time, SOBER, and wearing appropriate clothing for their shift:
Always wear your Frendly Crew T-shirt when working your shift and wear something else when your not working. We don’t want to confuse you with someone who is supposed to be working with someone who is not.
No open toed shoes or sandals allowed during your shifts.
Think about the type of work that you’ll be doing during your shift and dress appropriately. Showing up in sandals and a dress may cause you to forfeit your deposit.
Be sure to bring sunscreen, a water bottle and a small snack if desired.
After you check in for your shift your Frendly supervisor will discuss your shift and take you assigned location.
Your supervisor will also be responsible for dismissing you once you have completed your shift.
You will receive a meal token at the end of your shift by your supervisor that can be redeemed at any of the food vendors.
